Even in the continents of Asia, Africa, Oceania, and South America, CBD is a widely used product.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Although we are talking about CBD, which unlike THC does not have psychoactive effects on the brain, i.e. after taking it, it does not cause the usual “high” effect, but only a general sense of relaxation; not all countries allow its use.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The methods of use of this substance vary greatly depending on the different legal regulations.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Let’s take a look at them together…<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

CBD in Asia<\/strong><\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

In Asia, the regulations regarding the use of CBD vary greatly among different countries.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In China, for example, CBD is considered a drug and its production and sale are illegal. However, some CBD-based products have been approved by health authorities for medical use.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In Japan, CBD is considered a medication and can only be sold in pharmacies with a prescription.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In South Korea, the regulations are less restrictive compared to China and Japan, but the production and sale of CBD-based products are still illegal.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In India, CBD is legally considered a drug and therefore its production and sale are illegal, but certain forms of cannabis, such as charas and ganja, are used for religious and medicinal purposes.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In Thailand, the regulations have been recently changed to allow for the production and sale of CBD-based products for medical purposes, but their production and sale outside of this context are still illegal.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In general, the regulations regarding the use of CBD in Asia are continuously evolving and vary greatly among different countries.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In some cases, medical use of CBD has been approved by health authorities, but in other cases its production and sale are illegal.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

CBD in Africa<\/strong><\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

In South Africa, for example, CBD was legalized for medical use in 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, the production and sale of CBD-based products must comply with the laws on medicines and quality standards. Possession and recreational use of cannabis have also been decriminalized.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In Egypt, cannabis was decriminalized for medical and scientific use in 2020. However, the production and sale of CBD-based products are still illegal.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In Morocco, the production and sale of CBD-based products are illegal, but the use of cannabis for medical and scientific purposes has recently been legalized.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Conversely, in Nigeria for example, the use of CBD is illegal and punishable with detention.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The regulations regarding the use of CBD in Africa are continuously evolving, thanks to the many studies that are being carried out worldwide to prove that the use of CBD is not dangerous, but on the contrary beneficial.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

CBD in Oceania<\/strong><\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

In Australia, cannabidiol (CBD) is classified as a Schedule 4 substance, meaning it is only available on prescription. However, there are some exceptions to this rule. For example, products containing CBD can be sold as food supplements if they meet certain requirements, such as having a THC content of less than 0.0075%.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In general, the sale, administration, and possession of products containing CBD are regulated by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and by state and territorial authorities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The TGA is responsible for regulating medicinal products containing CBD, while state and territorial authorities are responsible for regulating the sale, administration, and possession of products containing CBD.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In addition, manufacturers must follow strict quality and safety standards to ensure that their products are safe and effective for use. This includes the requirement to provide complete and accurate information on labeling and ingredients of products.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In general, the use of CBD in Australia is subject to a number of regulations and rules, and individuals and companies that want to use or sell products containing CBD must follow these rules to avoid legal penalties.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

However, with a prescription it is possible to purchase CBD-based products, and more and more clinical studies are being conducted to evaluate their beneficial effects on different pathologies.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

New Zealand legalized the medical use of cannabidiol (CBD) in 2018, but there are still some rules and restrictions to follow. Firstly, only registered doctors and pain specialists can prescribe CBD to their patients.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In addition, only registered pharmacies can sell products containing CBD, and these must be registered with Medsafe, the government agency responsible for regulating drugs in New Zealand.<\/span><\/p>\n

CBD must be derived from the cannabis sativa plant and must not contain more than 2% THC, the active ingredient that causes the psychoactive effects of cannabis.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Products containing CBD cannot be sold as food supplements, but only as medicine.<\/span><\/p>\n

New Zealand also has some restrictions on the importation of products containing CBD.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

All imported products must be registered with Medsafe and must meet the quality requirements set by the agency.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In general, New Zealand has a cautious approach to legalizing CBD, but medical use has been made available to patients who need it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

These strict restrictions on the sale and importation of products containing CBD ensure that they are used safely and controlled.<\/span><\/p>\n

CBD in South America<\/strong><\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

The use of CBD in South America is becoming increasingly popular, but regulations regarding its cultivation, marketing, and use vary greatly among different countries.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In many cases, it is only permitted for medical use and is subject to strict restrictions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It is important for consumers and entrepreneurs to be aware of the specific laws of the country in which they are located and operate.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In Brazil, CBD was only legalized for medical use in 2015, but its marketing is still prohibited.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In Colombia and Chile, CBD was legalized for medical and industrial use in 2016, but its cultivation is subject to restrictions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In Argentina, CBD was legalized for medical use in 2017, but its marketing is still prohibited. In Ecuador, CBD for medical use was only legalized in 2018, but its marketing is still unfortunately prohibited.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

CBD in Central America<\/strong><\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

In Mexico, cannabis was legalized for medical use in 2017 and for personal use in 2018.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

However, the production and distribution of CBD are still regulated by the government and require a specific authorization to be used. In fact, only CBD derived from plants of cannabis authorized by the government can be legally used.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In Guatemala, cannabis is still considered an illegal drug. However, in 2019, the government approved a law that allows the use of CBD for medical and scientific purposes, but only under the supervision of a doctor and with the authorization of the Ministry of Health.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In both countries, it is important for CBD producers to follow legal regulations to avoid problems with authorities. In general, it is recommended to verify the legality of products and to purchase them only from reliable sources.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In Costa Rica, CBD was legalized for medical use in 2017. Its production and sale however, are still regulated and CBD can only be purchased in authorized pharmacies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In El Salvador, CBD was legalized for medical use in 2018. Also in this country, production and sale are regulated and CBD can only be purchased in state-authorized pharmacies.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama, CBD was legalized for medical use in 2017. Also in these countries, production and sale are regulated by very restrictive laws that limit its purchase only to authorized pharmacies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In general, legal regulations regarding the use and consumption of CBD in Central America are similar and provide that CBD is available only for medical use and not for recreational personal use.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Why is CBD not legal worldwide?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

Cannabidiol (CBD) is not yet legalized worldwide because there are still many pending issues regarding its safety and therapeutic use.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

First, there is little scientific research on the long-term effects of CBD on humans. Most of the available data comes from studies on animals or isolated clinical cases, so there is not yet a complete understanding of its effects on human health.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Second, there are concerns about the quality and safety of CBD products in the market.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Since CBD is not yet legal worldwide, there are no strict regulations in place to ensure that products are safe and of high quality.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Until more research is conducted and regulations are established, the legality of CBD will likely continue to vary among different countries and regions.<\/span><\/p>\n
